Electrical
Alongside solar, batteries and off-grid, ACE provides general electrical work for homes, businesses and properties around the region.

Whether it's improving the lighting, updating a switchboard, finding a fault or making an electrical setup work better for the way you use the space, the approach is the same: understand what you need, explain the options clearly and do the job properly.
Your switchboard is at the heart of your home's electrical safety.
If you've got older fuses, circuit breakers or safety switches, the board may not provide the same level of protection available from modern equipment.
Not sure what you've got? Send us a photo. We're happy to have a look, explain what's there in plain English and talk through whether anything is worth updating.
A little more detail
Old fuses and basic circuit breakers are primarily designed to protect wiring from overloads and short circuits. Safety switches — RCDs — add another layer of protection by detecting small amounts of current leaking where it shouldn't and disconnecting the circuit quickly. In short breakers protect cables, safety switches protect people.
Not every generation of safety switch provides the same protection. Electrical safety technology has developed over time, and older devices may not detect the same range of faults as newer types.
Safety devices also don't last forever. The last time you want to discover that a safety switch isn't operating properly is after someone receives a shock.
If your switchboard still has older fuses, older breakers or early-generation safety switches, we're happy to inspect it and explain what could be done to improve the safety of the installation.
Good lighting changes how a space feels
Lighting is one of those things you often don't notice until you've seen it done properly.
A well-thought-out lighting setup can make a home feel calmer, more comfortable and more natural. It isn't necessarily about putting more downlights in the ceiling. Often it is fewer lights in better places, good control, less glare and fittings that reproduce colours properly.
The best result is often when you don't walk into a room and think about the lights at all — the room just feels good to be in.
Lighting where you actually need it
Good lighting is practical too.
In a workshop or shed, well-spaced task and high-bay lighting can make work easier and less frustrating — including when you're trying to find the tiny nut you just dropped on the floor.
In a kitchen, something as simple as a well-placed strip light under a cabinet can properly light the bench without your own body casting a shadow over the work area.
And out here, where the middle of the day can be too hot to enjoy the backyard, good outdoor lighting can make decks, entertaining areas and yards much more usable after the sun goes down.
Smart and architectural lighting
If you want to take things further, we can also help with smart controls, dimming, sensors and feature or architectural lighting.
That might be lights that gently dim as the evening goes on, low-level night lighting that comes on when you need it, scenes for different uses of a room, or feature lighting that brings out artwork, timber, architecture or another part of the space.
It isn't for everyone, and it doesn't need to be complicated. But when it suits the home, thoughtful lighting control can make a space remarkably comfortable to live in.
